Health and Wellness Coaching is all about finding balance in the three most critical area’s of your life.
We are a part of nature, and if you take a look at nature around us, you’ll find renewal, rejuvenation and abundance evident daily!
We are never able to count all the grains of sand, the droplets of water or all the leaves on the trees on our beautiful planet.
The seasons change. The currents move. The moon and sun rise and fall. Plants, flowers and animals hibernate and then re-emerge re-energized.
Even your body fixes itself when it gets hurt – like a scab over a scratch.
BODY
Every cell of our body is constantly renewed, so it is normal for us to go through this process. What interferes with it is us by introducing stress into our lives. We ignore our body’s signals and a healthy lifestyle through the lifestyle we find ourselves in today.
The way to renew the body is to reconnect with it. Listen to the signals and follow through. Lightness is a good sign. Heaviness is not. Reconnecting begins with a change of attitude. Seeing your body for what it is. Without it you cannot live. Love it…unconditionally and treat it as you would a loved one.
Pay attention to the feedback system – you get what you give; or what you put in; you get out.
The Healing Response
When we cut our finger or get a cold, our immune system responds to rebalance, heal and renew. Proof that we are self-healers, and our bodies are their own pharmacies. By connecting our minds and spirits with the same fundamental intelligence of nature, we can become master self-healers. However, even though this is normal, it is also personal with regard to your input. Self-care is especially important for your entire lifetime.
Healing EQUALS wholeness. You need to acknowledge that you want and need a change. You are your own best healer!
We need to bring greater awareness to our lifestyle choices around sleep, diet and exercise. By making positive changes in these areas, life becomes more joyful and empowering. Then those positive feelings build momentum, and you find that old dysfunctional habits fall away automatically.
Prevention has a built-in flaw; that is fear. Fear has a negative result. A vision of a better lifestyle is a better option and provides a positive outcome. Good intentions do not work either. Guidance of how to change is what is needed. And life coaching is a brilliant way to get that guidance!
Small steps and victories are needed daily. Realistic goals are also needed – there is no perfect body. Only you can personalize your healthy lifestyle and please don’t do things that you don’t like.
In every moment, our bodies are communicating to us what they need to stay in balance. When we get signals from our bodies – that we are fatigued, tense, in pain or lethargic – it is important for us to listen and act to bring our bodies back into balance. It is also important for us to recognize positive signals from our bodies – rested, content, alert and relaxed – and reinforce it as our natural state. How we respond to our bodies signals is the essence of self-care.
How do we relieve stress and tune into our body? We cut out the external noise and distractions. Yoga is a great tool, or you can isolate yourself. However, an oasis is only temporary. Inner peace and calm can be attained at any time through centring yourself.
Genuine happiness can only be attained through valuing and loving yourself. Not through outside or material pleasures. Just by changing our attitude, we can transform everything into healing opportunities.
Make sure to choose lightness and coolness in every area instead of heaviness and heat (inflammation). Inflammation is linked to every dis-order and dis-ease.
And then we’ll move beyond merely surviving to actually thriving!
MIND
Our minds are our most intimate friend and healer. Caring for our minds is an important part of renewal. We need to achieve a calm mind that is also alert, reflective, creative, peaceful and optimistic. We need to strive to live in present moment awareness to avoid depression. We are the ones that drag our minds to the past; to relive it, or a future that has not even occurred yet. Our active minds are the voice in our heads and make us miss opportunities in the now. The deeper silent mind – our unconsciousness – is our true self. It is simply aware. Think of the ocean. The waves and current are our active minds. The deep calm ocean is our silent mind.
You cannot suffer the past or future because it is not happening in the NOW. What is causing the suffering is either your memory or imagination that you are allowing to repeat in your mind
The nature of life is to grow and expand in happiness, love and fulfilment. Mediation is a powerful tool that can be used to grow and expand our awareness. The more relaxed our awareness, the more relaxed our bodies. The two are linked and that is why meditation also has physical benefits. Contracted awareness brings pain and suffering every day. Outside of meditation, we can learn to centre ourselves during the hustle and bustle of our lives.
Old habitual patterns restrict us and make us feel stuck. We can choose to change old patterns and become unstuck. Old conditioning creates neuro pathways in the mind. This becomes your ‘default’ mode, which is helpful for driving, riding a bicycle etc. The cure is to notice your habits, pause (instead of reacting) and then to choose to change it. This is called the practice of “non-reactivity”, and you will create new positive neuro pathways that will over-ride the old ones.
We also need to learn to shift our mental responses from resistance to acceptance. Accepting what is, and letting go of what was, is your simple path to peace. Resistance (pushing back, denying etc.) is a symptom of a closed mind. The answer is opening your mind to the natural flow and process of life. Acceptance is an openness. It is a positive counteraction. It just means being open-minded and not rejecting, resisting, opposing or judging.
If you choose to continuously bring your mind back to the NOW – the present moment – then you will be at peace.
Find true fulfilment.
Material things are fleeting and not truly fulfilling. Ever-present awareness – knowing you are already and always complete, whole and fulfilled – is always available. We don’t need to chase anything or one to be fulfilled and it is found within. When we concentrate on filling ourselves (our cup), then we have plenty to give to others naturally.
Discover your true and authentic self and be that.
SOUL
The soul is the core of who we are. The source from which we derive meaning, purpose, strength and renewal. It is the ultimate source of healing.
Connecting to our soul only happens in our awareness. We all crave to live a life of deeper meaning.
Spiritual sickness is feeling sad, empty, lonely, fearful, guilty and shameful. Healing or renewing spiritual lack – the soul having lost purpose or meaning – requires that we shift away from ego-centeredness and live in the present.
To establish a real connection to our soul, we need to experience the quiet still awareness beneath our active thinking mind. We need a change in consciousness.
This can be achieved through meditation and / or prayer. Contemplation is also a brilliant tool – asking the four soul questions and contemplating them each day. An affirmation can also be useful, like “I seek to grow spiritually every day”.
There are huge benefits on all three levels (body, mind, soul) to be experienced from meditation.
Ego-based reality is based upon separateness. This means you would be terrified of death.
However, spiritual healing means you change your level of awareness.
Finding true self-worth is essential for spiritual renewal. Simply being yourself is the ultimate form of self-worth. I am enough is the total expression of self-worth.
You need to come to realize that who you really are is already healed, whole and connected to all. You are already complete. That is the secret to spiritual healing.
When we think of spiritual renewal, we typically think of it bringing us a sense of peace, joy and contentment. Instead of believing that we need to search, find, install or acquire something to have this; why not consider that we do not need to go anywhere or acquire anything to find peace and joy. Peace is what we essentially already are. Joy is the very nature of pure consciousness. To be happy, we only need to be what we already truly are. Just by being our true authentic selves, we make ourselves and others happy.
Inner peace and joy are not separate. They are connected. People believe that joy is a side effect. It is not. It is who you are and produced by your own personal state of awareness and can be found at any moment. All you need to do is choose to let peace and joy be qualities of your life that you nurture every day.
Peace and joy are not attained outside of you, so stop looking there. They are only accessible within your own heart. There is an endless spring within yourself that can be accessed at any moment in time!
BALANCE
In our quest for total well-being, there is one principle that will always lead us back to our most natural state of calm and centered well-being. That principle is balance. Balance is the sense of equilibrium between all the influences, elements, and forces we experience in our lives. It’s the well-proportioned state between the opposites of rest and activity, work and play, day and night, hot and cold.
Balance Is More than a Physical State
Balance is our inherently natural state. Whenever we’re out of balance, we feel “off,” as if something just isn’t right. Those bodily signals are messages urging us, often subtly, to get back to a more grounded state. While it’s true that we can (and often do) operate in an imbalanced state of being, it’s always less than ideal and the root of all illness.
However, maintaining balance in life goes beyond just our physical bodies. It’s also deeply tied to our overall levels of happiness and sense of fulfilment in life.
Because of this, our flag ship program, Renew You, Love Your Life! is the perfect way to find this balance.
In this 3-month program, we’ll cover:
